Sometime back, the members of Holy spirit Lutheran Church were asked to share personal statements of their faith - stories, devotions, anecdotes or favorite passages from the Bible that have meaning to them and reflect their Christian faith. Members chose topics or key words to help guide them. This is a collection of the things that were shared at the time. We invite all to add to this collection by emailing your contribution to our Webmaster for inclusion. Thanks to all who have already shared their stories. Some of the people who shared their faith with us through these pages are no longer here, but their faith will live on through these shared thoughts. You may sign your reflections or ask for anonymity as some have here already. The important idea is to share your faith with others.

Challenges

Genesis 18:14
“Is anything too hard for the Lord.” Oh, Lord help us to trust you regardless of circumstances. Amen

Everyone loves a to face a challenge. When Abraham and Sarah accepted the promise of a son, it took a lot of faith and perseverance. We are not given a total map of the situations we might face. He does give us the promise, “I am with you always.” He will supply at the right time, what we need.

The first requirement is the full surrender of our lives into His keeping to do with as He sees fit. When He has this, it will be no problem for us to surrender to the complete management of our lives. It is not how much we give him, but how much we keep for ourselves. My dad’s slogan was “you can’t out give God.” His life was proof of that. God has promised to supply all our needs. Psalm 37:5…”I have been young and now I am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken nor its descendants begging bread.”
Oh God, thank you for the privilege of sharing in the work of the master. Make our offerings of self and our possessions a blessing. Amen.
