First of all I would like to say Thank You to the people of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church for a wonderful 25th Anniversary of Ordination Celebration!

The Worship Service was simply Awesome, especially

the music from our Choir and Bell Choir!   The Bishop’s

Sermon was timely and certainly gave us a great start for

the year ahead!

Thank you for the Fellowship time after Worship with

so much wonderful food!

Thank you for the beautiful Clock which I have already hung

in my office and very generous monetary gift! You are the

best and I am so glad I am at Holy Spirit!  I pray that we will

have many more years together!

As I think about the wonderful event on January 15th I realize that my 25 years of Ministry have been a journey of Faith. Faith is not a one time thing that just happens.  It is an ongoing relationship with God. These past 25 years have had ups and downs, but I have always felt blessed by God!

As we move forward into 2012 and especially into February, I am reminded that in the church year, February is a celebration of the Epiphany season.  This year we celebrate this season until February 25th when we begin the Lenten Season with Ash Wednesday.

While Epiphany is known as the Season of Light, Lent might look darker.  In Lent we certainly look at what brought us all to salvation: the death of Jesus.

When we put all the seasons of the church together, beginning with Advent (preparation), Christmas (celebration), Epiphany (Light) & Lent (introspection & meditation), Easter (celebration & hope), Pentecost (work), we find a true journey, one not unlike our lives.

As we continue the Journey of Epiphany (not unlike the Wise men) may we never forget the entire faith journey that we all live each day!
