We are often perhaps uneasy about things we hear about in the news - injustices in
far away places or pictures of orphans and widows in nations torn apart by wars.
The hard part is figuring out how to turn that feeling of discomfort into action.
How to do something to help? Where to go to volunteer? This page is meant to both
provoke thought about some of those issues and to provide you with at least some
direction, via Internet links, on how to take some action, once you have decided
to make a difference - to walk the walk, not just to talk the talk. Click on the
graphics below for more on the organizations that you can support and roles you might
play to make a difference. Hopefully you can find an organization in the groups below
with which you can become involved.The important thing is to DO SOMETHING!

Sites that focus upon promoting fair trade with third world farmers and craftspeople, so that they might
earn a decent living with dignity. These aren’t “hand-out” sites, all they are working for is fairness. Visit
them and see how you can help by buying directly from these organizations.

If helping in Africa or Latin America is not something that you fell comfortable with, then
these sites, closer to home may work for you.
These sites are focused upon the tremendous amount that remains to be done for the
victims of Hurricane Katrina.
